BEAUTY SECRETS: 4 things no one ever told you

Beauty Secrets: 4 things no one ever told you | The Blushing Beauty

Today I’m excited to share a new series with you! This is going to be called Beauty Secrets, and…

Okay you get it. No explanation needed.

For this post I’m going to share 4 things that I bet you didn’t know about. I was shocked to learn some of these myself! Let’s get onto these secrets shall we?

1. Drugstore Conditioners are a lie?!
Everyone knows drugstore hair products aren’t the best of quality, and that’s not to say that there aren’t some good ones out there, but they just don’t have the best of ingredients. I was getting my hair cut a while back and my hairdresser asked me if I used Pantene or Suave. I didn’t but I asked here why she asked, and she said that they are pretty bad for shampoo and conditioner. Pantene is mostly made of wax, and if you say my most recent empties post, I showed you a Pantene conditioner and said I didn’t use it for my hair anymore and that is why! It coats your hair with the waxy stuff in it so it makes your hair less frizzy and seemingly healthier, when really its just weighing your hair down and making it worse! On the other hand Suave is made of soap, which means it really isn’t going to be of any help to your hair. They probably won’t give you lasting moisture like you want!

2. Permanent hair dye isn’t always as it seems
I have dyed my hair 3 times in the past year in a half, using Garnier. And don’t get me wrong! I love the color and the results, just not the fact that it’s not permenant. If you don’t use hair products for color treated hair it’s not going to last. At least that’t the case for me. I dye my hair darker so I’m not sure if that’s the case for lightening your hair.

3. Oils aren’t the only reason why your breaking out
For me and a lot of others, we tend to think oils are what is breaking us out. As it turns out, oils don’t directly cause breakouts! They can cause issues that lead to acne however. Creamy liquids (foundation for example) and stick form products (some concealers, blushes or highlighters) are thicker and can clog your pores! Even natural ingredients that may be used for a light fragrance can cause breakouts.

4. Your brush is causing split ends and bad hair
I never really think about how much my hair brush can actually harm my hair. But if you use a standard, plastic paddle brush, you are familiar with that ripping noise when you’re trying to get your tangles out. To fix this, you can first use a detangler, and then follow up with a Wet Brush. I have one and I think a lot of you do too, but if you don’t then why? It saves your hair! Then you can brush your hair, wet or dry with minimal damage.

Those are 4 beauty secrets I’m sharing for today! Let me know if you have any beauty secret tips in the comments. Follow me and like this post if you enjoyed. I love youuuuuu
